Abstract

L’objet de cette recherche est l’étude de l’Influence Inter-linguistique sur la prononciation de l’Anglais. L’objectif est de chercher les facteurs inter-linguistiques et socio-culturels qui contribuent à cette influence ; il s’agit de trouver à la fois comment la « charge culturelle » peut être représentée sur la production orale de l’échantillon des étudiants et quelles sont les caractéristiques phonétiques récurrentes dans ce processus. L’étude est centrée sur la prononciation anglaise des étudiants de première année à l’université d’Oran. Deux expériences ont été réalisées. La première analyse le discours provoqué et spontané, la seconde examine la prononciation à partir de lecture de textes. L’objectif final est de mieux comprendre et recenser les problèmes inhérents à la pronon The study investigates Crosslinguistic Influence on English pronunciation at University. It aims at finding the Crosslinguistic and socio-cultural factors that contribute to that Influence. The objective is also to find both how the ‘cultural load’ can be depicted on the oral production of the students sample and what phonetic/phonological features are recurrent within that process. The study focuses on the English pronunciation of first-year Algerian students at the University of Oran. Two experiments were conducted. While the first analyses induced spontaneous speech, the second examines pronunciation through text reading. The overall goal is to better understand and identify students’ pronunciation problems in order to find and adopt educational solutions
