Résumé: After its independence, Algeria inherited a catastrophic situation in all what concerns health: the absence of qualified doctors and specialists and scarcity of facilities. Algerians suffered from dangerous diseases that spread rapidly and led to the rise of death toll among the population. Hence, the new government took immediate measures like free access to health services and obligatory vaccination which led to better life expectancy and the infant mortality. This is what we are going to tackle in the following article.
