dc.description.abstract | This research paper deals mainly with the American Education through times, from the Colonial Era to Today. It explores the salient features of the American educational system and how it changed and developed under various circumstances and facts. However, the first part of this work serves as a background in which I examine the root of the emergence of schools and colleges in the colonial times. Moreover, a thorough investigation on how the British religious men seeking for freedom and prosperity, along with other European immigrants brought their educational system and ideals in the new world. Nevertheless, the second part is primarily about the time of the revolution which ended the British rules in the thirteen colonies. Mostly in this part, the focus is on the creation of a unique American educational system by the forefathers to get the new nation ahead. Finally, the third part describes education in the United States in the progressive era, a period where progress was in all fields and all over the world. Furthermore, and with the onset of technology, education in the United States, takes another turn. The educational institutions, therefore, integrated technology and classes where directed today towards a diverse population. | en_US |
