The present theoretical research work is an attempt to describe and examine the relationship between language and culture and the possible influence the foreign culture may exert on learners' interpretation of the meaning of foreign language words, mainly those which they find difficult or alien. Learners usually have difficulties in understanding topics of different types of speech events, responding to different types of speech acts, such as requests, apologies and using written language appropriately. Their efforts made to acquire the target language very often confront various obstacles that hamper their strong will and reduce their rate of learning. These obstacles can be the source of the different errors related primarily to the cultural context of these words in sentences or utterances.en_US
