La didactique de la traduction juridique via l’ordinateur

Abstract

In nowadays, Algeria needs more and more legal translators in order to facilitate international business and partnership with other countries because whose are mediators. Otherwise, the curriculum furnished by our universities is enough and it can’t produce qualified legal translators after their studies. As a result, this research paper aims to present a new understanding of legal translation teaching by proposing a suitable curriculum based on law, its language and its culture. The use of computer in teaching legal translation like Wordfast translation software is very important in order to earn time and effort. Legal translator training must improve their translation competency which is divided into three kinds: the first one is linguistic competency based on mastering source and target legal languages; the second is a cognitive competency related to psychological aspect of translation and the last one is the strategic competency. We have mentioned in this paper a set of conventions given by Gémar that must be followed by a legal translator in one hand, and by the Didacticien of legal translation in the other hand.
