For an ecopoetics of Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio’s novels Abstract This research uses an ecopoetic reading to analyze the relationship between ecological thought and writing in the novels of Jean Marie Gustave Le Clézio. Le Clézio’s work shows an evolution in ecological representations, with a clear distinction between a first period influenced by the New Novel, lacking in ecological images, and a second, richer period marked by the Amerindian experience. The work of the second period is based on two axes: a political axis that denounces all forms of anthropocentrism. A concept rooted in Western ideologies that advocates a separation between humans and non-humans. The novels depict a conflict between anthropocentric and ecocentric visions, and are also a critique of consumer society. The work reveals a parallel between ecological destruction and human exploitation, with an ecofeminist dimension that highlights the vulnerability of women to exploitation. Leclézian novels advocate harmony with nature through positive visions of the human-nature relationship and policies such as eco-alterity and environmental justice, while decolonial thought explores the environmental ravages inherited from colonialism and the principles of a liberating ecology. Ecological utopia becomes a means of conceiving new alternative structures, challenging environmental norms. The poetic axis allows us to return to the abundant use of personifications, anthropomorphism, zoomorphism, similes, uncertain comparisons and metaphors that enrich the imagination and transcend distinctions between human and non-human. Key words: Ecopoetics, Ecoalternity, Decolonial thinking, Ecocentrism, Ecofeminism.
