This study focuses on the Cenomanian-Turonian deposits present in the Aurès region. aiming to highlight oceanic anoxic event 2 and the different biozones of the Cenomanian-Turonian. The research includes three reference sections of the Auresian domain: the first in the southern part, the second in the northern termination of the Aurès Mountains, and the last along the southern margin of the Bellezma Mountains. A multidisciplinary approach was carried out, including litho-biostratigraphic, sedimentological, and geochemical analyses across the three sections. Based on ammonites and planktonic foraminifera ; Several formations were identified: Tighanimine, Arris, Adahri, Yabous, Smail marls, and El Chaabet marly- limestones. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of foraminifera, as well as the study of microfacies and bioevents, allow us to reconstruct the paleoenvironmental evolution and sedimentological and paleoclimatic variations during the Cenomanian-Turonian period, and especially during the C/T transition. Sedimentology of these formations evolved from a platform environment to a slope-basin environment during the Cenomanian-Turonian transition, marked by a transgressive phase and the accumulation of anoxic pelagic sediments enriched in organic matter. This evolution is related to the regional tectonic context of this area. These paleoenvironmental and paleogeographic interpretations are consistent with pre-existing data on the regional paleogeographic context, highlighting the Tethyan characteristics.
